WTW 569S WTW 569S is the car that Hannu Mikkola & Arne Hertz used to achieve victory on the 1979 “Lombard” RAC Rally. The car was a MkII Escort RS1800 in the famous Eaton Yale Lift Trucks blue livery, minus the Castrol bonnet stripes this year. The Escort won this event a further 7 times and became one of the most successful rally cars of all time. A young Finn by the name of Henri Toivonen broke the Escort domination in 1980 driving a Talbot Sunbeam. And the year after rallying was to change forever with the introduction of 4 wheel drive and the Audi Quattro, and Mikkola was victorious once again.
